I saw someone on X talking about anti-war songs, and it made me think about anti-war art.

"The Third of May 1808" by Francisco Goya - This painting depicts the execution of Spanish resistors by Napoleon's troops during the Peninsular War. Goya's work is a raw portrayal of the horrors of war and is considered one of the first paintings of the modern era because of its stark break from traditional heroic representations.

The entire piece consists of two paintings (a diptych). The left-hand half consists of The Second of May, 1808 (The Charge of the Mamelukes).
